High beams not functioning

My fil's 2006 lc recently lost high beams. He said the low beams and fog lights are working but that the fog lights flicker when you turn on the highs.

I made a weak attempt at searching as im at work and trying to stay employed but can anyone shine some light on this issue?

Has he checked all the basics? Fuses, relays, bulbs?

He said the fuses are fine

90% sure the fog lights are OEM wired that they turn off when you hit the highs.

I don't know how the 100s are wired up, but on my FJ62 I had the same symptoms: low beams work, click to high beams & everything goes dark, but if I pulled back on the stalk as if to flash someone the highs would work. The cause was oxidation inside the switch on the steering column - using a FAQ from the 60 forum I was able to take it all apart, including the switch itself, clean off the oxidation, reassemble, and voila all better. Just a thought....

Are the DRLs working?

Do the highs work when you pull back on the lever to "flash the high beams"

Update : both high beam bulbs were apparently burnt out. Alls well that ends well.
