I've got Christo's harness upgrade. All the connections are good. Power getting to relay, all the typical stuff has been checked.

No dice.... the driver's side high-beam bulb will not illuminate.

Advice?

Comments?

Dirty jokes?

Anyone?

Uh, hello. How about some more info like did it work before? Did you just install this? Earth to sparkie

Two nuns walk into a bar.... the third one ducks.

Just a shot in the dark here but did you remove the diode per Slee's instructions ?

Information, AKA 'garbage in, garbage out..'

Did you properly ground both lugs, to the inside of the wheel well?

Guys,

Diode? I reviewed my instruction sheet provided by Mr. Slee, no mention of diode removal...

Installed, plug and play, everything works as intended. Total install time 30-45 minutes. Do I need to go back to remove a diode? Didn't notice any near the OEM headlight plugs or on the loom crossing the bay at the radiator support, did I miss something?

Thanks,

Danny

Older harnesses has a diode that was removed in later ones.

Jason, check the connector where the original Toyota harness plugs into the upgrade harness. Sometimes the original connector spades are spread and does not make contact with the harness male side. Little prying with a pick and closing it up will allow it to make contact.

Well... I guess... but he's HONEST, and helpful... AND he sold me the stuff...

I think it's great customer service!

Thanks Christo!

:-D

Hmph... STILL no luck.. anymore bright ideas? (pun intended)

It's been awhile since I installed his harness but if only 1 bulb is not working then It's that wire running to it or the bulb itself. You did try another bulb in there....didn't you.

YES... I tried another bulb... the wire running to it is good as well... I need to check the connector @ the stock harness... but a stupid hurricane is raining on me as we speak...

If everything is connected then it can only be the relay at this point.

Do you have a Multimeter?

Yup... A Fluke 89....

BUT IT'S RAINING!!!! Grrr....

On my harness it uses only 1 set of connections from the truck's harness. This 1 set operates 1 set of relays. So if 1 high beam is on then it's not the factory harness nor the relay or any part of Christo's harness prior to the relays.

It has to be the wire going from the relay to the bulb, the wire that goes from the bulb to ground or the bulb itself. That's it dude, nothing else. You've stated that the wire is good and the bulb is good, not a chance in hell that you are right on both counts. One of them is broken.

Thanks Captain Obvious!

Sorry... I'm a little slow today..

Guess I'll wait til' the rain stops and go meter the wires coming into the bulb, check the grounds, and check the relays.. hmph.

I'd bet that you only connected 1 ground on that side thinking it was common to both bulbs. There is a separate ground for each bulb.

I mention this already earier in one of my responses, I? assume that it was checked?

My harness has (2) sets of connectors so I asume that each relay goes to a beam functionality. Apples to apples thing.
