Finally found one to pull the trigger on, got a lot to learn, will be asking a lot of questions, but I'm so excited. This has always been the SUV that I wanted, but I always seem to go another route due to one thing or another, she's got 183000, one tiny spot of rust, but otherwise seems solid.

I don't know what the PO did to the wheels, maybe tried to paint them with a rattle can?

Welcome to the 100 club!

I’ve seen that happen to the graphite colored Lexus wheels before. It was a very soft paint that had a tendency to stain easily when sprayed with an acid wheel cleaner (which is what most dealerships and car wash chains use). Acidic wheel cleaners are safe if used properly, meaning not in direct sunlight, not allowing the chemical to dry on the surface, and not used on a wheel that’s still hot (from driving and braking). Eventually the finish just deteriorates and starts looking like this because most people that work at cheap car wash chains just don’t care to do it right.

She looks to be a beauty - what year? I'm new too and cannot determine just by looking...my guess is '05?

Welcome!

As someone who was new to the club just a few years ago, here's my advice:

-Spend some time reading through the FAQ. It may be dense and 90% of the info not immediately applicable, but it's a really great primer
-Use the search bar (and play around with advanced search). There is a TON of great info that already exists on the forums. Jumping on to an existing, related thread, rather than starting a new one, is better for you and everyone who will come after you.
-Don't be afraid to ask questions. This is probably the best online community I've ever been a part of and people are always ready to help.

Enjoy the truck! And I figure I'll say it before someone else does: Change your heater T's.

It's an 02, regarding the wheels that was my conclusion as well, any way to fix it

Only way to fix that is to re-finish them. Can be done yourself with spray cans under $50-$100 or have them media blasted and powdercoated for around $300-$500 (that’s what shops in my area would charge for a set of 4).

Welcome to the asylum.
I too have wanted an LX or LC for a long time.
Found my 02 in California and had her transported to N.C.
Best vehicle I have ever owned.
Always thought Isuzu Troopers (owned 6 of them) were the best ... until I took a test drive for the first time in an LX470.
