Is this a HF1A or HF2A?

Thanks,

Anybody?

I'm so jealous of that transmission...

Any other suggestions?

It's an HF2A.. And FYI, the HF1A does not necessarily have a PTO cover plate.
I'll take a pic of my Part time case and post it, at least a pic of the rear output which
is the most notable difference.

Here you go...notice the stubby output.

Thanks for the pic Sheldon.

HF1A is part-time 4wd. HF2A is full-time 4wd.

Not sure if all HF2A's have the same internal config, but the telltale difference is the larger housing for the rear output shaft drive, and the electric motor arrangement on the top. I think that's for the centre diff lock function that only the full-time 4wd 80's have.

Craig.

HF1A has electric motor on top also... at least mine does, it controls the front drive function on HF1A where it controls CDL function on HF2A and HF2AV
Of course there are versions of 80 series part time case which have manual shift front drive too.. and those would lack the motor up top.
