I guess you could measure :meh:

Glad the wheels and nuts worked out for you. They look great. Can't wait to see pics of then mounted!!

Thank you for making them available...I was ready to pee myself I was so excited :D
Are you coming to the Hamom in January?

If they worked then they should work now. If you hear a knock or feel a wobble, that's the first place I'd check. I agree about those keeping the threads clean.

Noted - and thanks for calling it out -I will DEFINITELY keep eyes and ears open..Thats one of the beauties of doing your own work..you notice EVERY LITTLE THING!!!

I love acorn nuts! Good choice especially if you aren't going to run the hubcaps!

I like them, but Ill definitely take it for a very short run on the road before I commit to keeping them on! I want to pretty much keep the hubcaps on, unless going wheeling - those caps are one of the distinguishing 40 charactoristics!

SOOOOO what do ya'll think of the tires on?

Awesome they belong on your forty!:beer::beer:

NOW I'm looking to do the same on mine, where can I find five steelies?

I belong to the awesome Olde North State Cruisers here in North Cack-a-lacky...one of our members put em up and I did not hesitate. :steer:

I believe you can still get them from Yota dealers - they come black though..plus Im a fan of the 'well loved' look:cheers:

Those tires are sweet!!!! Can you post more pics? How about a full side picture with the new stance? I think I might end up with these on mine. They look Amazing! Oh and a few pics with the tires next to a measuring tape for height and width would be really appreciated. Congrats on the new shoes!

Having just narrowed my own stance, I still like the look of the 33x12.50. My new KM2 33x10.50 are taking a while to get used to in the looks department, but they handle much better on the road without power steering. Especially in the parking lots.

Also, I have a new respect for you since noticing that your driveway is f'ing gravel!

That looks great Sarca! Really coming along nicely!

Thanks, high marks coming from the work youve been doing!! Hows that baby doing??

LoLz F'in Gravel is right..Working in the driveway has helped me work on my patience..I . cant. tell. you. how!many!times! I got down on my knees to work on something and caught a big rock under my kneecap jusssst right. Ugh! My daughter was playing with her friend in the yard one day when I did just this type of thing..A long and VERY colorful vocabulary of obscenities issued forth from my less than ladylike lips..I turned around - saw the two girls, put the tools down and walked over to our visitors parents house to confess my sins. Her dad (who is a welder) just laughed at my spontaneous confession. I told him I didnt want to his girl to come home spewing obscenities that would make Satan blush with shame. He said "its nothing she hasnt heard from my shop - no worries...you want a beer?"

Sometimes I love North Carolina rednecks!

Thanks Sarca! She is doing great. Growing like a weed! She has severely limited my 40 time, but she's well worth it!

Thanks for the positive words!
As some of you know, I have a tendency to enjoy thinking outside the box of normal stereo components for my 40.
I do not want a regular headunit - I like the appearance maintained by the old stereo and I have little interest in permanently mounting speakers or running speaker wires. I want portable AND I want quality.

I originally got the TDK Soundcube, I explored options for securing it and while the sound from TDK ridiculously good, its still too big.

Two days ago I picked up the Logitech UE
UE box.webp

Its smaller, its bluetooth (or connection by 3.5) and it smokes anything portable by Jawbone in sound quality. I love it..If Im in the 40, the UE easily fits in my backpack = no worries regarding theft.

In case you have been looking at these options, I also compared the Beats Pill which was of a horrible quality compared to their first two gens of headphones.
I also looked at the Beats box Which has serious sound quality issues when you crank it up.

I also looked at the two models of the Phillips Shoqbox There are 3 models, none of which are worth the money, IMO.

I did not even consider the Bose Soundlink - too big, too expensive and frankly, the design does not say "put me in your 40!" Ive always respected Bose, but never enough to spend the extra money in this case.

Now, back to the conversation on how sexy them new tires look :grinpimp:

Lookin' good! Glad to know that you enjoy working on the cruiser because it will never end, it will never be "done." Sometimes I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing!

Being technologically inept can you connect your ipod to that speaker or does it bluetooth with your phone for pandora/iheart???? Or do they have wireless head units now?

No wireless units for regular car stereos. With the one I got it pairs with your ipod or phone wirelessly or by 3.5 auxillary cable. I use a phone app that lets me access my home computer and I stream anything in my home collection on my phone. Any app that produces podcasts, music etc on your mp3 device will work.

I know that feeling, gravel hurts the ol knee bones. Thats what I've had to deal with since I also have to work on gravel.

I have a tip for you that has done wonders for me. Find one of those office desk chair mats, the kind that look like a porcupine on the back side. Throw them down on the ground when you are crawling around, under, and around your cruiser, or any vehicle for that matter. They really take the bite out of the gravel.

I always keep any large pieces of cardboard I get and use them until the next nice piece comes along. Disposable, biodegradable and saves the old bones from gravel.

Thanks for both tips - appliance boxes are usually my first choice..if I know Ill have time to work I bring one home and throw it down for the weekend. What I dont get is how my huz rolls around on that gravel with NO barriers whatsoever

Hoping to finish up one last brake adjustment tomorrow and then testing out the the new tires..Its been raining here the last few days, I have not forgotten the promised measurement tire pics - will post tomorrow!

Look what Santa brought me for documenting MeJane adventures!
