Heyo, first time caller but long time listener.
I have a Autool x95 GPS slope/altimeter device that I want to get wired up, but want to get it right, I:e, I don't want to kill my battery OR reset my the devices clock. The x95 installation says: Red wire to ACC, black to ground. Gives a warning that you don't want it wired to the battery as it might drain.
So, the manual lists the clock wiring as such:
Harness 1,2,3 4
1. Ground
2. Power Source (illumination)
3. Power Source (system operation)
4. Power Source (display operation)
Am I correct in thinking that I want to attach the black to ground (1) and then to ACC (4)?
Yes, I know that is what the x95 says, but I also wanted to make sure I understand what the different pin were used for.
My understanding is that the original clock used 2 so you could see the clock, 3 to keep it charged and 4 so you could see it when the key is turned to ACC without turning on the engine.
Finally, how should I actually connect everything? Can I get a new clockside harness, or should I look to another way. I'd rather not cut the harness off, but I'm not experienced enough to know what parts I would be chasing down.
Thank you!
