I'm in the process of purchasing a 94 cruiser with the diff locks. I live in Mexico and can get parts but it would be easier to put together a small box of spares. Can you guys help me compile a list. Probably will get the stuff from C-Dan.

Thanks

Oxygen sensor
main relay with new bigger wire harness
EGR exhaust gas sensor
Timing belt
all other belts
desno oil filters
desno air filters

No timing belt - timing chain on 1FZE.

Birf rebuild kit, starter contacts/plunger, intake hose, cap/rotor and wires, brake pads...

Give up on the FZJ7x?

I didn't give up--just more on the back burner--it will be much easier for me to beat on a used 80 then a new 70---keep in mind the 80 is about a 1/3 of the price of a 70. I would like to import a 70 when I'm making a little more denero( 2 more years)--want to buy some waterfront in Washington before I can't afford it.....

besides with the 80 I can put on the arb w/ m12000 and Ome lift and such....

How often does the chain need to be replaced?

I'll second the need for spare brake pads! hehehe

Timing chain usually last the life of the engine, what may create problems is the sliper that has plastic and can brake and slide up to the vavle cover gasket. How many miles on the truck and what maintance has been done? this also would help with any parts list you may want. later robbie

Robbie the oil was changed every 3,000 to 5,000. It is the original owner who had the 30,60,90k service done by toyota. It now has 130,000 with the diff locks. It was used as a second car for the last 5 years for ski trips and such in the SW. The first 5 year were in Texas. The guy checked the diff locks in the snow each year to see if they worked--but never used it off road. The brakes have just been done--but I will order to spare sets..... Robbie I sent a list to you guys to get quoted but haven't heard back yet---I'm looking forward to it!

Thanks

He told me the wheels have been repacked several times by Toyota but he doesn't really know too much about trucks.... It is in above average condition.

So what part# will I need to order to replace the timing chain guide?

For Repair Manuals are both Haynes and Chiltons good?

NO

get the factory manuals, I dont know if Dan can get stuff to Mexico, if so he has the best price for LC manuals, to get LX manuls you need to go to Toyota

I would make sure the cooling system is in real good shape, the axle service is done, you may want to have a fuel pump, water pump, belts. You may need the brake system check out. Most crusiers with those kind of miles need front calipers rebuilt. with out seeing the truck, not much more comes to mind. Parts number Dan can get when you talk to him, i do not keep them in my head.
Talked to christo this AM and he said he e-mailed you yesterday. later robbie
