Wow Josh your 4Runner is killer... I've seen only a few built 4Runners of that vintage. More info? Could you fit 35/37s on there?

35's, Yes, no Problem. They are going on next as soon as I am satisfied that I have no tread worth speaking of left on the 33's. Most of what's there is on the sig...just a beater daily driver.

Let me know if you ever want to let go of the front bumper.

HA! I spent WAY to much reinforcing, bracing & building the radiator saver and outriggers to sell that beast. However, I would call Steve Schaefer, as he had a good lead on them a while back through SonoranSteel.com, and he is local in Tempe.

PM me if'n you want his number...

Already contacted him to no avail. Also contacted TJM directly and they are willing to ship from AUS, but the price is far too much than I can afford right now.

What about a local Option?

Kennesaw Mountain Accesories - looks similiar toa TJM, but much stronger based on my experience with both...

Delivery time has been my only drawback dealing with KMA....good quality, custom made to fit however. Expect a month +.

All Details be HERE.

You currently have an FJC - why would you go from a vehicle with fuel injection and a linked suspension to a vehicle with leaf springs and a carburetor? And to make matters worse, a '60 comes with a semifloater rear axle...

Ha... those are fighten words and argumentative at best on any forum.

I agree! I love my 62 with it's 3fe fuel injection, AT, leaf springs, PW, PDL, PM, AC, rear heat, & rear window defrost. I don't feel as though I'm roughing it even with leaf springs. Also for $5K you can get a nice 62.

Just my dos centavos.

I just wanted to say thank you again to everyone for their comments and information. After having it for this last week I am now positive we made the right decision, especially after taking the truck on its maiden offroad voyage yesterday! Added bonus, its a 98 not a 97!

I guess I'm officially no longer Miss R2FJ!

We're not so into mods as we are in the start truck. Mine was rolled when I bought it. Many watched the repair from around the world. The truck was fubared on the left side and roof.
At the time, several people offered me up to $11,000 for the truck on the repair. They are not that valuable now.
Mine was salvaged because of it's having factory lockers. But really, only the rear locker is ever used. That can be duplicated in the aftermarket.
The start price of a decent 80 without lockers is about $4,000 or less. The 80 is the best of the LC's.
It surpasses the 4-Runner by a wide margin. The 80 has an uncanny level of traction.
I have personally used both 4-Runners and Monteros off-road. Both of them are very capable trucks. They are both at the top of the class, making Nissan a far away third wheel. But neither of them can hold a candle to the inherent abilities of an LC80. Just my 2 cents worth.

:hhmm: .....Ok, your right.:meh:

There-in lies the problem. I have a perfectly capable Toyo 4wd van available to use as a work truck. It is just sitting there. It is useable and available. It would be a lot more convenient to use, and would get better mileage. My tools would store better in it.
But in every parking lot, my 80 gets the right-of-way due to the big steel bumper! That is hard to give up! When I meet another car, they always wave me on. I have the perpetual right-of-way! I like that alot!
