‘94 LC and having trouble removing the brake booster. I can only get it out half way. Clearance is tight. Thoughts?

I don’t like my answer. Remove plenum. I really hope someone else has a better response.

Saw the otramm video and he didn’t seem to have the clearance issues I have.

Got it! The otramm video showed that you should lift the booster from the bottom and angle it upwards and wiggle it out. I had to point the booster down and out and then wiggle it out.

Otramm was working on an LX450 and I’m working on a ‘94. That might be the difference. I’m not excited about putting the new one in...

The easiest way is to just replace your head gasket and do it while you are in there :D. That's what I did.

I looked into this as well trying to remove it one from a 95 LC that was being parted out. The frame was slightly bent on that one which caused the motor to shift just a little to my disadvantage. I thought that was my problem. Many people suggested that you have to move the motor, others said that they got it out with no problems. Let us know how it goes.

I got it out, with difficulty. I didn't touch the engine since the HG was changed about 12k miles ago. A big issue was that the busted brake booster was not OEM and the 4 bolts that go into the firewall are longer than OEM. I replaced it with one from cruiseryard: 80 Series, NEW OEM Seiken Brake Booster and OEM Gasket, 44610-60792. Installation relatively easy, but I still had to wack the engine side of the booster with a rubber mallet, but it went in just fine. Actually, the hardest part of the install was getting the metal bracket to line up on the master cylinder side.

I have replaced mine three times trying to fix a soft brake problem, and I'm getting ready to do it again. I'm installing the Seiken booster from Cruiser Yard. All I can say is, "it'll make you talk ugly and have destructive thought." I didn't have to remove or disconnect anything else to get them in and out, but it was thight and frustrating.

I am RR'ing mine now. Old booster is out (did NOT need to lift engine), going back to parts store for core refund. I'm putting in a refurb'ed unit, but I needed to order both front and rear gaskets so waiting for the mail. Since I had to wait anyway, I went ahead and painted the new-to-me unit.

Question, the FSM identifies a "Bracket" that evidently goes between the 3-Way and booster (on the front, between the master cylinder and the booster). And a clamp. My rig didn't have the bracket or clamp and seemed to work fine for several years until the booster failed. Also missing a gasket between the master cylinder and the booster (I believe the one that ends -60010). Also missing upper left nut inside the firewall (the one that is hardest to get to). Lousy maintenance by PO or some shop? What the hell.

Probably a little of both!

I installed the gasket between the master cylinder and booster—there was none prior. I did NOT install the bracket. Tough to fit back in and I just lost patience. I did install the clamp back. Both the clamp and bracket support the throttle cable. I just ended up using some fiberglass heat shielding wrap to protect the throttle cable. No issues thus far.
