Help removing Autometer oil pressure sending unit on 5.3

Okay, removing the stock oil pressure sending unit on a 5.3 Cheby is hard enough, but it can't be done with a 27mm deep socket. But, if you running Autometer gauges and have an Autometer sending unit, which is a cylinder, there's nothing to get any kind of grip on.

For those not familiar. On a late model Chevy, the oil pressure sending unit is located on the top, center, back of the engine - very, very difficult to get at. You can only come down from the top. It's impossible to get at from the side.

Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

I assume that's the 27 mm socket. Won't work for me. I've got this down there.

And I can't get a grip on it.

Crows foot wrench, you just need to know what size.

Ahhhh - I guess I have a trip to Harbor Freight in my future.

So, for anyone finding this thread, the crows foot did not work. The base of the sending unit is too wide and the access doesn't allow you to get even a partial grip. So I contacted autometer, and they said some from the top with channel locks or vise-grips and crush the housing of the sending unit so you can spin it. I might break off, and then you can get a the nut. - nice solution.
