Hi all,
This morning after a rare snow storm in my region my 99 LX470 with about 270k miles steering tilt and telescopic function started moving on its own while driving. Was pretty odd but thankfully I was able to get to a place to park, the actual steering functionality didn’t seem affected. Now it keeps adjusting on its own and has all sorts of hiccups and stutters. I understand these motors are known to fail at high mileage, but I’m not interested in repairing / replacing one as going into the steering column is a bit too involved. I’m wondering if there is a way not only to simply to deactivate the tilt telescoping feature easy entry , but to disable the entire motor functionality altogether? Seeing as it moves on its own, just disabling the easy entry feature is not enough as I’d rather disable the entire system and leave the steering wheel in place going forward. Should I pull a fuse, if so which one? Any advice would be appreciated!
