The deal with the 2002 fell through. Wasn't in that good of shape. I found a 1999 with 70,000 miles that is owned by a Toyota dealer owner that is MINT. Any issues I should be aware of? Again, thanks in advance.

Check the Slee guide for used 100 purchase here.

It is general consensus here that a 2000 or newer should be preferred because of ATRAC.

Use the search functionality to look for specific issues.

If you are buying a 98 or 99 (or even 2000 or newer), do a search about front diff breakage as well.

1999 differentials

Yep, the 1998 and 1999 front diffs are (just slightly) more fragile than the 2000+, but that just means you should be a bit careful reversing with a load and a locked center diff. That generally means don't recover another truck while reversing. Turn around, first.

The other trick that seems to break the front diff is to accelerate sharply with the center diff locked and one front tire on an ice patch.

On the plus side, these things are still Toyota Land Cruisers. Even with a "fragile" front diff, it beats almost anything else on the trail.

And, the 98-99 are also the only models that (sometimes) come with factory locking rear diff, which is not available with ATRAC.

I love my 99. About the only thing I'd trade it for would be a newer model.
