Hello all, 2008 Toyota LC 200, in the car jack compartment could someone tell what are those fuses for and the black device circled in red?
What I need is to connect to a hot wire a 12V power outlet.
Thank a lot!

None of that stuff is factory.

remnants of an aftermarket security system maybe? Definitely not stock.

Probably the harness for the towing connector? At least thats what is hidden in that areay in my case.

Look for something like this if any of those fuses have power you can jumper in there.

Yeah, I have one of those but for some reason that i need to investigate further 12V is not present all the time on those fuses..

So they are only active with ignition. That black connector looks factory just cause it has a tin slide on attachment.
Perhaps if you want a 12V power connection, might I suggest a dedicated line from proper fuse box? I know it’s a much longer line, but in my experience this keeps system troubleshooting easier. If one thing fails, it’s doesn’t
take down a string and sometimes that string has that one singular important item, like a fridge. It’s my cautious approach to extras. I believe that any one system should be able to be removed for repair and not impact anything else.

This is more than correct what you are saying. The thing is that it will be a long wire and need to find a way to bring it to the back of the vehicle. But thanks! I am thinking the same.

<< On my 60 pictured I have marine grade tinned 10 ga wire power & ground running from under hood
junction box thru firewall along under carpet alongside the drivers door to the rear and have a
plug there for the fridge. I have an extra amount as originally I wanted to be able to remove the fridge and put it on a table if necessary and keep it plugged in. In real life it’s too heavy to do that but I still have the extra coiled up. With high quality wire and high enough gauge no loss of power over the distance.

This is well done job. I will look into that myself. Thanks a lot!
