Dorry guys for being a PIA but I need a parts list so I can tell CDAN...

Jim - Thanks so much for your help..

Parts list...

Just send Dan the Photo of this & a Visa/Amex or MC #... he'll take care of the rest... you'll get all that you need...!! seriously... sarcastic, but true...

you don't need a parts list. That's the great thing about working with CruiserDan...he'll know what you need and will not over sell.

Give him a call and direct him to the thread. He'll let you know what you need.

based on what we have seen Jims parts list looks good, the axle rebuild kit wil cover all of the seals and noramlly repalced soft parts, other than that your parts list will be based on what hard parts you find damaged,

So what all is damaged?

We know the spindle and birf are toast,

What about in inner axle shaft? did is shear off or just come out of the birf? I cannot tell from the pics, if it is sheared or even if just mangled then it needs to be replaced,

the rotor hit the caliper and looks to have made a good groove, so you need a caliper, should replace those in pairs so you need two, is the rotor OK or does it need to be replaced also? rotors are ushaully done in pairs also

Was the hub damaged? pound out the races, the area the races seat in should be smooth with no evidence of the race rotating in the hub. with this level of carnage going on it might be a good idea to check it for run out during reassembly to make sure the hub and or rotor are not bent.

Was there any damage to the knuckle or axle housing?

Have you taken apart the other side? how does it look?

How are the drive plates? The early drive plates have a tendency to get worn out, if you are going to update your birfs with longfields you will need the later thicker plates anyway.

Birfield and inner axle shafts I would take a look at Longfields they are about half price of OEM and are stronger. Everything else get from Dan,

Texus is correct, if you have looked at everything and know what is damaged then a call to CDan he will have great advise,

Looks like about 1,500 to 2,000 bucks worth of new parts IF only one side is jacked and IF the axle housing is OK.

I will be giving CDAN a call pretty soon. Thanks everyone for your help.

Form the picture, it looks like you need 1 birf, 1 spindle, 1 birf repack kit and hole lotta grease.

Now I can't tell if the inner axle, the caliper and brake dust cover are OK or not.

Can you get a picture of inside of the birfield? Where's the flange that goes on the hub?

Then he's got a used axle with used hubs and spindles that still needs bearings, seals, gaskets and labor to install it all. And it will cost $300 to ship it. For $1200-1500 he should be able to get 2 outers (maybe not OEM birfs), 2 spindles, 2 hubs and all the goodies. Then he still pays to have the work done and he has an assembly full of new parts.
I agree. A used axle will still require a rebuild to be sure it will be reliable. It may still be less expensive, but you will not know until you get the used unit.

I'm with you .. maybe you can leave apart the caliper work for next ( soon ) time. Now I thought is a work must to be done for both sides.

If you haven't already bought the parts, I could probably be talked into selling some of my spare used OE spindles and birfs...

I collected a BUNCH of 80-series front axle parts (disassembled three front axle assemblies and kept one complete) around 1998 for my 4Runner SAS project, but never did it.
