Hey guys, first off awesome community you guys have here. I've been browsing for half a year now and I finally made an account.

Now to the point: I found a 1989 FJ62 with 75xxx miles. I called the owner and he told me that he was the second owner and that it's been in a garage for 10+ years with very little use. He wants to sell it because he feels he doesn't use it enough and says it doesn't belong in a garage, which I think we can all agree on. He is asking for $14,500(give or take because of the exchange rate).

What should I look for? I have no automotive knowledge but I want to be able to spot the good things from the bad.

Is the price adequate? I've been browsing 62's here and they are pretty varied. Some go for $7,000 and others for $18,000+(with mods of course).

Thanks in advance

I would first try to verify that mileage. Through Carfax or auto check or something like that. That will also tell you the number of owners. Then go from there. 6 inch lift is not necessarily a plus. Pending on how long it’s been on it that can put a strain on components. Also try to find out more service history like if the front axle has been rebuilt.

If that was in the US, there would be a line of people trying to buy it.
