Help! Fan clutch won't come out!

Glad to hear that your issues have been resolved. However, I'd have liked to have seen how a new, unmodified fan clutch would have worked for you before you put 20k fluid inside. I do understand the PITA factor of having to do this work but the 20k is a big question mark in my mind.

I actually thought about it when I got it in the mail but since I've already taken the clutch off so many time I decided against it. My guess is that is will work just fine because then new blue hub clutch is locking and unlocking properly. So the difference between fluid should be minimum, since we do get over 100 here in the summer I figure why not put in the heavier fluid like everyone recommends. Honestly just about anything is better than the eaton I had!

I got my new aisin fan clutch installed and did some testing. I ordered new fluid with it also but I don't think I'm going to need it. The first thing I did was modify my original black hub clutch with 10K CST oil. It made no difference. The temps were actually higher. I installed the new blue hub clutch and the temps are now much better. Right before the install when I had the old clutch out I sprayed some simple green on the backside of the radiator and on the front side as well. Let it sit for a few minutes then hosed it off before installing the new clutch. Not much came out but it didn't hurt to try.
Last weekend the cruiser got loaded up with 4 people, all the gear needed long 4 day weekend and the Hobie 16. Together the boat and trailer weigh in at about 550 pounds. The amount of drag the boat creates going down the interstate is worse than the weight. Driving around town you'd never know it was back there.
Most of the driving was done late in the evening or at night. The AC was on the entire time. I would guess the air temp outside was in the 80's. Going down the interstate the scangauge read about 190-195 the entire time. On some hills it would go into 3rd gear and it might creep upto 198. 200 was the highest I ever saw during the entire trip. When the temp would creep a tad bit higher it would always come back down rather quickly.
The route was from Birmingham Alabama to Navarre Florida.

If I had to guess I'd say the temps might sit a tad higher during the day. But I would also guess that the hotter it was outside would cause the clutch to lockup a bit more.

I don't tow that often so I think I will keep the fluid that is in there in for awhile.
