Help: Damaged driver door on my 2003 LC

hi, I'm new here. Today, I just damaged my 2003 LC100's front door on driver side (only the door). Please see pic. Should I take it to dealer or a body shop to repair? Any idea about price to fix it?

I saw 1 in South Bay for parts energy way. Get the door and paint it will be cheaper. In CL ad. What part of SD you in ?

The dealer is just going to send it out to a body shop, more than likely the one they own.

If you're going to deal with insurance, let your insurance company recommend one.

my WAG is it rolled in reverse with the door open and the open door caught on a fixed object bending the door in pic.
hopefully it did not do any "A" pillar damage where the hinges mount.
A good local body shop is what you need, or if handy find a door and replace yourself. the door will just get replaced and paint matched

The door is toast- find another door.

if that got bent back when catching on something in reverse i have to believe the A pillar and hinges are mangled and that is very bad and I bet its going to be worse than bolting on a new door and hinges. cant imagine it would ever close right again. post a pic of the a pillar

The shop may find damage to the frame area where the door hinges meet as well, but this is fixable. As said, get a whole other door from a donor vehicle and have painted to match if not the same color. Did you open it while a car was coming along side? I've seen that happen a couple of times. You can tell us, it's the internet, nobody else is listening.

I just watched a video of a guy opening his door in a car wash tunnel. The giant arms that straddle the vehicle came forward and BOOM, 180° doors.

I am OP. Sent it to a body shop to check today. Luckily, only the door needs to be replaced, everything else is good. "A" pillar is fine as well. My insurance will cover it.
What happened is, it was parked on drive way with the door opened. Another car rolled and scratched the door. s*** does happen
