So....i was playing with my springs and when i went to start my cruiser, I had no power what so ever. No lighs, nothing! I have a 350 in there, so things are a little different than stock, and i have a new redtop as well....brand new!

Any ideas what i should look at?

Thanks!!!

no juice

HA-HA - Yea, i've had the battery in there for about a month....been driving it. I've never had a problem, so I've never had to mess w/ anything. Just wondering what I should be looking at.

I tested the battery...just to make sure, and it's got a full charge.

Do you have a fusible link or some replacement device (fuse or circuit breaker) between the battery and the fuse block?

Battery connections clean and tight? Ground connections clean and tight?

Have you got power to the fuse block? Sounds like you don't. Make sure the riveted connections on the back of the fuse block are sound (might want to disconnect the battery for this check).

Perhaps you ammeter is toast. On a stock rig, all of the power (except for the starter) goes through the ammeter. Check for continuity through it. Disconnect your battery before you remove your gauge cluster (to keep from grounding out the studs on the back of the ammeter). Make sure the connections at the ammeter are sound.

Good Luck.

Mine Just Did The Same Thing, It Was An Old Wire Pulled Out Of The Splice. Check And Recheck All Wires Near The Battery And Springs Where You Were Working

Hey Snohomish, did you find the problem yet? The truck isn't under water, is it?

Not yet, i got home late tonight, so I wasn't able to get under the hood, but i'll be working on it tomorrow and let ya'll know.

Seriously, is it ever going to quit raning here?

raining....raining...raining................quit whinning, for me, it is -35 F (-36 Celcius) this morning with the windchild factor......... -17 F (-27 Celcius) without the windchild factor.........I'd better take the raion than this facking cold wave

Rain isn't a problem. Hell, we like it. :^) Rain is what makes Washington a great place to live. But this rain is melting the snowpack and there is a lot of flooding going on.

Anyone Local?

Hey all,

Is there anyone local that would like to give me a hand. I need some help with my springs and trying to figure out why my cruiser is dead. I'm in Snohomish, WA....so any help would be awesome!!!!

Help

Sounds great...i'm pretty slammed with work this week, but maybe Firiday, or this weekend!

Thanks!!

Dave

factory connector just inside the cowl from the battery, connect has 6 wires i believe, one is the main feed to the fuse panel. With problem here, you will have nothing!
I want to say its 10 gauge white w blue stripe?

otherwise i would continue to the battery, damn fuse links suck, they all get changed to fuses here.

Check your ground, tester on the + run the other end to something steel many times make sure it is working.

Any results?

I told Dave I wouldn't post the results here to embarass him. So I'll let him do that :D

We even got his front spring pin replaced

Sounds like it was one of those, "crap, why didn't I see that" moments! On a side note, any of you guys belong to any local cruiser clubs? (I'm in Seattle)

I used to hit the Seattle Cruiserhead meetings occasionally when I worked down there but haven't in quite a while. I'm also loosely attached to the Rain Country Land Cruisers, but haven't ever joined because the meetings and events are so far north.

Since you guys mentioned it, I'm sort of 'hosting' a get-to-know-you run up the Index Wall Trail this Saturday. If you guys (or any other locals) are interested in details, pm me or email me at fj40eric@verizon.net
