Please look at these photos - it appears the front wheel is too far forward. This is a 2.5" OME lift. The arrow is pointing forward. But the shocks are angled crazily. The drive shaft pulled out. It looks like the tire will stick out well in front of the fender.

The arrow should point to the pinned end. Thus those springs appear to be on backwards.

They look backwards to me. The military wrap needs to be at the frame end.

The shocks look odd too-the plastic shield should stay with the upper mount.

Sure the hell appears that way... :(

Gol dang effin' muther effer!!!

Of course these went on pretty easily. Yay, get to do it twice.

Is it that hard to have directions? Of course, if the arrows are stamped on incorrectly, guess it wouldn't have mattered.

Wish I had seen this before:

OME has recently started placing a painted arrow on the top leaf that will indicate the fixed (non-shackle) side of the leaf spring.

Thanks for including instructions. Guess I should've done more research but would it be that hard to have a sheet or a sticker that says arrow should face the fixed end?

Hi
Your not the first to fit these springs around the wrong way.
I recall others Mudders doing the same thing me included.
The arrow goes to the fixed pivot . Or the spring eye to center bolt . The short side goes to the fixed pivot.
Be shore the + spring goes on the drivers side.
Good luck .
Cheers

The dust boot fell off so the orientation is correct. I got it back on after I took the photo of course.

I read somewhere that the military wrap ends no longer existed. Guess that was wrong.

Well I plan on fixing this tomorrow - will be doing it by myself this time as my buddy who helped me has to head back home. At least it was fun spending time with him shooting the ish.

You'd think with ARB being the "Cadillac" of lifts they'd have better than Pinto instructions.

Appreciate everyone's feedback wish me luck tomorrow...

I don't think the OME 40 spring has a military wrap. When you use the large 1980 and later eyelet to fit the large bushing , a full military wrap is too large to fit in the early 40 spring hanger. The 1980 and later 40s had more room in the hanger to accommodate this. OME used a half wrap on the 40 spring at the fixed end

ginmtb - I just put the same kit on my 77' FJ40. I am very happy with the results.
