Well excited to learn the in and outs of the radio I just installed yesterday, I decided to go over the manual when I pulled in the driveway tonight since it started pouring and I was in no rush to get soaked on my way inside. After about 5 minutes the drivers and passengers side corners were pissing water from under the dash. Then water started leaking from the sunroof about 5 minutes after that! I just read up on the drain holes for the sunroof so I will be attacking that. My gut says she is leaking from both the windshield and the sunroof. Any experience with this guys.

I think you're on the right path, used weed wacker line the last time and it cleaned them out. Unless the windshield was replaced before and wasn't done following the proper procedure you should be okay. If it wasn't done to factory specs then you may need to have someone look at it. Ours was factory original glass, I believe, when replaced and hadn't leaked even with a crack spaining the width of it. While ours hasn't had the sunroof leak, the floorboards have become damp and the rockers have filled with water and all it took was to fiddle with the drains to clear out the water. Just make sure to dry the carpets and I keep desiccant in the vehicle at all times... But that's because I live down by the beach, however it may help after the monsoons

Thanks for the reply. Is it possible that all that water coming from under the dash was from the sunroof only? I found both drain holes completely plugged. one with a gum wrapper and the other with a piece of rubber.........? I will snake it later today.

The installer has to follow the FSM. Both sides of the gasket need to have sealant on them. Can't remember if it is FIPG or something else, but if not used they will both leak and squeak when offroad and flexed. I've gone through two windshields in the past year or so, and I provide Safelite with a new Toyota gasket, and insist on a two man install which is what it takes.

Bell Glass - old school, and they really know what they are doing - murf recommended them to me; we've had two different vehicles serviced there

ask them whether they want you to get the factory seal, then order it from murf
