HELP, 1988 4Runner won't start

1988 4Runner V6 3.0 manual 4x4

So a few days ago I was driving and I needed gas so I stopped and filled up. Wouldn't start, pushed truck into a parking spot and after 40 minutes it started, drove it for 20 minutes and engine just stopped running and coasted into a parking lot, thinking I ran the gas tank too empty and filling the tank possibly stirred up the sediment I changed the fuel filter no dice.
If I sprayed some starting fluid it started roughly for a minute or 2 and then cut off.
Since then I have replaced the ignitor which now reads 12V and the Mass Air Flow sensor and still no dice.
Spark seems yellowish, and you can smell the gas being pumped so fuel pump is working.

Any thoughts if it could be the distributor or a engine ground?
Any thoughts on why the truck would start after sitting for 30-50 minutes after dying?

At the coil sitting getting 10V to 7V when turning engine over

Check your battery to make sure the alternator is charging?
 
spark almost sounds week. what does your cap and rotor look like, i know ive had 22res not start before due to worn and corrided cap and rotors. otherwise check fuel pressure. not easy but your strainer could be plugged in the tank. Also didnt this older generation have a problem with the computer not supplying enough power to the fuel pump, and then you would have to bypass the computer with a key on power wire.
 
Sounds to me like a fuel delivery issue. Whether something is not grounded properly or the fuel pump is going out ( on/off situation ). I would check to make sure your getting good voltage to your pump then make sure your fuel pressure is where it should be (not sure on the 3.0, you'll have to look it up) my guess would be it's giving the engine enough fuel to start but not to stay running.
 
Stick a paperclip across the Fp and B+ terminals in the diagnostic connector under the hood, turn the key on. Make sure the fuel pump is running, you should hear fuel hissing through the fuel rails and past the pressure regulator where it returns to the tank.

Try this, report back.
 
Just put a new $475 ignitor in the rig and no dice so a happy return back to the car parts store for a return.

Thanks, not a fuel issue. When the wire connecting the ignitor coil to the distributor is pulled from distributor to show what spark is, when turning over engine to start only 1 single spark is made and that's it instead of a constant spark to feed the distributor.

Couple buddies came over reset the ECM and pulled the mass air sensor connection and had cylinder 1 spark plug pulled it started and turned it off avoiding running engine with 5/6 spark plugs firing.

Now that spark plug and Mass air sensor connected back to 1 single spark at ignitor.
