I'm getting ready to install the SOR heat riser insulator block off plate on my '76. I bought 2 of the remflex heat riser gaskets, one for each side of the insulator plate. I'm thinking the stack up will be to thick. Is there a better way?

Wouldn't you only need one gasket? Between the exhaust & the plate? There's nothing to seal off between the plate and the intake. Is there?

@Steamer is correct the only thing up there, on the intake manifold are fins to help absorb heat. Unless what you have headers and installing a fluid heat riser?
Confusing post, Remflex gaskets are usually associated with intake/exhuast manifold gaskets and a heater riser gasket for the bottom of the intake manifold.

Ah my bad I thought he was talking about the insulator 'block'

Number 2 in this pic

My Int/Exh combo was rebuilt by the guy who builds MAFs engines. He used two stock gaskets around the block-off plate, and high-temp (orange) Gasket RTV and locked the butterfly flap in the open position - on my '85 FJ60

Has held up great about seven years, now. Be aware, it will take you a bit longer to warm up, but I don't worry about it much since I'm in So. Kalif.

You may run into re-fitment issues using those thicker Remflex gaskets, I would use stock or even just high temp sealant.
