Purchased a 2004 Land Cruiser. The Headrests on the front seats are loose and do not hold position.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

If they have the DVD player in them. The player can be pulled and (so I'm told by DVD mfg.) and hearest tightened.

They do have DVD players in them.
How does one remove the DVD assembly?

It probably the mechanism inside. There maybe some velcro or snap under the headrest. You will need to pull it apart. And pull the dvd out. I used some cardboard and zip ties to fix mine. The glue that holds is all together may have gone bad.

You will need to open it up and see what’s going on.

Worse car you buy some replacements online for cheap with already built in dvd/usb ports and rca jacks for connecting external devices.

If you look close, you'll find the mfg name on the DVD/LCD player. Give them a call and they'll tell you how to remove and all you may care to know. Very helpful support when I called. As I recall there was a few screw, that they said needed removing.

Myself, I just pulled headrest out of seats and replaced with some used stock ones. So I never did bother repairing/tightening. Got them stuck in a box around here somewhere. As I recall it was on The Redbaron which I pulled them out of. You can find info in the first link of my signture, look for Redbaron. Seems the wires & control/power box was tuckaway under console.

Many think these DVD players are from the factory, they're not. Only front DVD/LED screen is.
