Window removal not too tuff. 1.5 .bananas

Thanks for all the pics. I know it’s been a long time, but... anyone know how many clips are needed to install the headliner? I have the SOR factory replacement headliner, the windshield and rear cargo window gaskets, and all of the bows are still in place but everything else is long gone- no clips, no pad, just bare metal roof

@SoUtahFJ55 what did you figure out for the metal clips? When I took out my headliner some of mine got lost and they are no longer available. I've tried partsouq and had no luck.

Thanks!

Haven’t had any luck, and honestly just kinda tabled it for now. All the other parts are sitting in the garage waiting

Is there another source for headliners, other than SOR or Cruiser Corps? Or if they're the only ones, can anyone comment on the quality of either them? And I've read a few times that the ivory vinyl is better/more durable than the grey felt. Anyone with an opinion?

Just for information, it seems most '87 and later FJ60's had the grey felt, but my '87 HJ60 (which was more FJ62 than FJ60) had the ivory vinyl from factory.

I'm also interested in some headliner opinions. Maybe someone can point me to another thread I'm missing if this has been gone over.

I want to replace the stock cloth liner. I like the idea of vinyl being more durable and easy to clean. I'm also trying to keep the truck as stock as possible. Just wondering how it looks.

It may seem silly to this Mud crowd but I also like the warmth (not literal warmth) and comfort look the cloth liner brings to the interior. My cruiser is my daily driver so having it feel more luxurious inside is something I'm considering.

Are you in Los Angeles?

Not at this moment but I live in Silverlake.
There are many upholstery shops in L.A., I have a contact for one. May not be able to get OEM... but they have access to fabric manufacturers and you can likely get close to OEM. If interested... send me private msg... and I’ll give you a call.

Understand that totally. I am gearing up for the interior renovations - since my truck is about to get back to my garage from bodywork and paint.

Did find some upholstery websites that sell headliner clips - that seems to be the way to go, since Toyota ones are NLA.

Im also interested in a LA-based car upholstery shop that would be '62 friendly. Gonna do some roof rust repair but replacing a headliner is better job for the pro's. Willing to share whomever you found? Thx.

Sure, Olympic Top Shop, 6150 Whittier Blvd. 323 723-7466, owner is Feliciano "Chano" Cortez. he did my DNP Carpet Install last Sept. 2020. He's always busy. Just happened to be surfing SOR Website and found this Headliner- Land Cruiser 60 & 62 Series Interior Body Panels - https://www.sor.com/cat114b.sor.
