I installed a new head unit. Worked perfect for a month then all of sudden i get no sound at all. I returned the head unit and installed the new one and the same thing. I bypassed the factory amp. When i remove the rear speaker harness only the front speakers work.

Could a wire be chaffed and rubbing somewhere? I had a similar issue, turned out to be a loose dash speaker wire grounding out.

Iam going to have to check. Its driving me crazy. I hate taking out the dash!

Again! Second time it happens. I replaced the head unit thinking it was that. When i installed the new head unit i had the same issues. So i unplug the speaker harness behind the unit and plugged it back and started working again. So i put everything back and after 3 weeks it happen again. Heading works but get no sound. The factory amp is bypassed and and all harness to the factory amp is disconnected. Iam i suppose to make the speaker harness extend to the harness by the amp?

Maybe bad contacts in the door wiring? Mine does this some times so I am going to run new door speaker wiring directly to the HU.

check all the speaker connections you can. my kenwood last week malfunctioned when i was playing music pretty loud. cycled power and it came up with an error on the HU. i had zero sound. i reseated a few of the speakers connectors on the back of the speakers and that did the trick.

I finally found the problem and didnt have to take out the dash. Thank god! One of my rear speakers was grounding out on the door.

Thanks, but found the problem it was that one of the rear speakers was grounded. Works perfect now.
