Head gasket had a pretty bad blowout, see pics. Looks like it had a small leak for a while. Question is, do you think a stock head gasket will seal over this pitting, or does block need decked?

I can feel it is there, kind of gradual though, so I cant catch a nail. Can feel it with my finger though
There have been quite a few on here with a similar issue.
Do a search for "block pitting" or similar. Someone found a product that was able to be smeared (or sprayed?) over the deck for the new HG to seal on, but don't know if there are any long-term results.
If the bottom-end on these wasn't so robust, one would just pull it and rebuild it or go with factory new short block.

Does my block's firing ring look trashed?
I have been talking with @half k cruiser cruiser about my block since he has crossed this bridge a few times in the past. He brought to my attention something I thought was gonna be ok.. but might not be. And I am glad he did since I don't want to go through the process of replacing the head...
