Hi Guys,
I have a 1992 Toyota land cruiser HDJ81 w/ slushbox with a GTurbo HD-G300 and a PDI front mount. (327K kms)
recently add gauges so I can turn up the boost and fuel.
here's the problem I set the pump compensator spring to 20 psi and turned the pin to max fuel.
All is fine at 15-18psi (wastegate pressure) it's a clean tune not a lot of smoke and low EGTs.
Then I got greedy and added a manual boost control to turn it up to 20-22psi.
After a like 10 mins of driving it started to smell like oil and I popped the hood and it looked like the Valdez sank in my engine bay and it blew oil out of the dipstick and blowing smoke out of the cap. (Hello my friend Blow-By
)
here's where it gets weird.
started her up this morning no smoke or blow-by out of the fill hole.
did turn down the boost to the wastegate pressure and drove it around for 30 mins. Still fine no sign of blow-by
does it need a rebuild or does it just not like boost?
