I just bought a Jdm landcruiser and haven't quite figured out what all the different switches and buttons do. Does anyone know what the switch next to the mirror adjustment is for?

Just a guess...but that does not look stock/OEM to the truck...could be anything

Auxiliary lighting maybe :hmm:

That is not a factory toggle switch. The PO would have put that in to operate some extra gizmo he installed (lights perhaps???) You'll have to figure out what it does yourself, since I imagine it will be a bit hard to contact the PO :) Time to start following wires...

Sure looks like an aftermarket toggle to me.. follow the wires. I was going to say Aux lighting but I see they probably have that covered with the big LED toggle on the other side of the column. Could it have something to do with the wire stuck to the right A pillar..or the wires haning out by the dead pedal?
Maybe it's a remote switch for an onboard rice steamer?

As it's been stated it's an aftermarket deal with possibly some lighting wired to it. Hope you're getting those cool sunglasses as well.:D

Do you get to keep the navigation system and if so, do you know if it's a brand that will support a N. American map?

Anyway, congrats!

LOL mine has the same switch in the same spot...I never bothered tracing it and it seems to do nothing...probably some old fog light set up or something like that.

Most of the JDM's I have seen have been "infected" with poorly done wiring from the PO. Case in point would be the wires running in the door jamb:

This is true in my case as well. I have so far pulled out foot after foot of wire and will continue until it is all gone. Mine also had various switches for this and that. Also getting cleaned up as most of the 'upgrades' were useless.

As for the switch that the original post was about: I have one in the same spot. The PO had used it for the massive fog lights attached to the gargantuan bull bar that I have since removed, as well as a rear light mounted below the rear bumper. I guess that PO had never gone off the pavement as that light at the rear would have been ripped off pretty quick!!

Any more pics of your new LC? We want to see!!!!!!!!!!
