wow, i bookmarked this page. so usefull. i drive an hdj81 too. try this to compare parts if you could swap parts. i too am thinking to fix my AC system. my HDJ81 was imported from japan (right hand drive) and was converted for local use (lefthand drive) and some AC features couldnt work with the conversion they did
