I have an 05 with a very slight but noticeable haze on the headlight lenses. It is nothing close to the cloudiness I see on aged plastic headlights of some cars, but I still would like to see it gone. Glass cleaner doesn't remove it. These headlight lenses feel like glass, so I assume there is some clear coat on the glass that has clouded a little.

Anybody had this problem and found a fix?

Thank you.

Pretty sure I've read all 100's went to plastic lenses in '03+. Meguiers and Mothers has a headlight restoration kit you can pick up on amazon or wally if you need to do a full hardcore restoration. I use Meguires plastix polish and elbow grease every couple months to keep my other cars headlights clear.

I think they went to plastic in ‘06. My 04 has glass and they look new at almost 15 years.

Not to hijack this thread, but does anyone know of an easy way to clean INSIDE the lens of the headlights? My driver side high beam headlight is a bit cloudy on the inside, probably from minor condensation and I was wondering if there's a trick to clean it out?

Those headlight restoration kits are kind of a scam. You can do everything those kits do for less than half the price and maybe even free if you already got the necessary tools. This doesn’t apply to my 100 but my parents have an ‘07 Solara with plastic headlights that developed the typical yellowish haze on the outside. I took 500 grit, 1000 grit, then 2000 grit sandpaper to them and then hit them both with a few coats of gloss clear coat that bonds to plastic and they look brand new. Have been that way for 6yrs now.

This happen all the time on the reflector, not the glass itself. if that is the case, not much you can do except retrofit hid projector or replace the headlamp. I carry the 1 piece 98-05 DEPO headlamp or DEPO glass replacement lamp for 100.

Use this excuse to spice up the look of the front end a little, :)

Build date of Sept. 03. Still looking pretty good I think.

I just treat my headlight like paint... three-stage restoration, cut, compound, polish

This!

There is a lot that cone with a small disk and sand paper with these grit sizes. On my previous car it lasted a few years before starting to fade again.

This is what I used:
3M 39008 Headlight Lens Restoration System

Colgate whitening toothpaste take care of haze on plastic headlight lenses. I was able to clear out haze on my sister's 00 eclipse with that a year ago. It worked very well

Make sure you put a piece of 3M clear film after you do the restoration, this will make this job last for at least 5-6 years.
