When bought 6 mths ago, my RJ70 was with auto hub lock. I changed that to manual lock immediately after. However, the one that had was not a perfect replacement - had to add a 1/2inch spacer (see pics). My headache: the bolts keep on breaking up on me! This pics was taken after the 2nd time all 6 bolts broken. Is ist due to the retrofitting? If not, what else could it be... the drive shaft? Do I need to replace the manual locking hubs (again)?

when you added the spacer you lost the dowels. these are what takes the abuse of the locking hub to the main hub assembley. the bolts hold the locking hub against the main hub but the hardened pins is the actual strength. i would suggest drilling the 1/2" spacer for the dowels going both ways and then your concerns will be reduced greatly.
