Thanks guys! Now back to our regular fj45 stuff. Here's a couple photos I dug up from my old computer. Hopefully they will come up in this post. I'm composing my add today as I work on my '47 ford 2 ton. (Like that one is gonna be any more fun to drive, sheesh) What I have finally determined for sure is I enjoy the hunt, all aspects of the build, the drama and trauma, everything involved with the project. When they are done, they collect dust in my sheds. It's sorta lame, but I guess I enjoy fixing them more than I like driving them.

You forgot the photo of the guy that lives in the engine compartment. ;) Is he part of the sale?

I don't actually live in there. I do however, spend plenty of time under hoods. The type of hat changes seasonally btw. :D

Well, it sold in 3 hours. Funny, the guy saw it on Mud and called and said he wanted it. What's weird he lives in Olympia Wa. and grew up on Orcas Island and graduated from high school here in 1965. I know many of his classmates that stayed on the island. He knew all the old couples who farmed here and took us in as a young struggling family in the 70's. He couldn't have faked going hunting with Mark Montgomery or Sunday dinners with Bill and Dorothy, and Alice and Gil. Planning to deliver it to him on Friday but we'll probably take it over to the mainland late Thursday. ( I see a pattern developing here). We were already going to Seattle Friday for a load of salvaged beams and planning to bring the trailer over empty. You guys helped a lot on this and I appreciate your input, and specially that all of you encouraged me to keep it and not sell it. This has all happened so fast! I think I'm gonna be ok.

Congrats on the sale and to the new owner. I know its a nice rig and its been talking to you over the phone, I will be planning a road trip in the future just to hang out drink some sweet tea and swap stories. Rob

Well, she just didn't want to leave. I got stuck in the thawing snow/mud down by the sawmill where I loaded. Then i went to winch out but with the plug in lead on the ramsey winch on my ford, I couldn't remember which way was unspool. The controller has a red side and a black side and I guess I went the wrong way and it squished the bumper in, then quit. I'm guessin the po has a fuse in there somewhere, but I was racing for the ferry and there's only about 4 a day in winter. So we busted out the kubota and with a long line to the gravel road we got 'er out. The new owner was quite happy with it, and not too concerned with it's quirks and stuff as I pointed them out. He is a serious car collector and will be getting help as the truck will most likely get a 'nut and bolt, frame off restoration'. To each his own, huh? Then we drove up north near Snoqualmie Pass and picked up a load of salvaged douglas fir material for a project, then some Craigslist ford truck parts and back to Orcas. Any sellers remorse hasn't occurred yet. It just feels really good to be flush again. Oh, and I DO know where another rust free lpb is. ;) Another good thing is we've been getting a lot more good jobs, and two were confirmed by email when I got home to the computer. You guys will be the first to know if I score another project truck. Thanks for all the help, I would have listed it for 15 I think!
