Howdy all!

Know you guys ain't seen me much on this 60 forum, but I bought one about 4 months ago from a mudder. Use to have a 62 and was planning on getting an 80, but just fell in love again with this 62.

Anyhow, was wondering if you guys have ever seen anyone selling a rear bumper with integrated rear sliders? If not any of you vendors reading... that would be sweet! Jim? ;)

Thanks in advance for any feedback!
Yo Han

I believe 4x4Labs used to make one for the 60/62 but I hit there site today and all of the pics look to be of 80 series. You might want to give them a ring and see if they make one for the 62. I am interested in knowing the answer as well because their rear bumper is the best I have seen when scrolling through the 60 registry.

Jim at SROR built these for my 60.

Yes. I have one from 4x4 labs for my FJ60. Click on my signature line and you'll go to my post in the registry. There should be another link there to more pictures. This bumper literally saved my ass-end when I went through the rubicon...https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/171896-scrapes-bruises-scars.html

Thanks fellas for all the replies! I just bought a pair of regular sliders from Jim yesterday, so I'll ping him about those when I save more $$...lol. Those by 4x4 look nice as well. The prices of rear bumpers make me pucker! Might have to build my own and ask Jim to set me up with some rear sliders. Thanks again!

Check the 4x4labs or call them. They were offering weld-yourself kits of the 80 series and I got the impression they were willing to do it for the 60 series, too.

I'm designing a rear bumper with integrated sliders. Hopefully it comes together as good as I'm envisioning it will!

Remember how much their kit cost?

HannaQuality did a custom mod on my old Kaymar about 6 years ago. It gets a LOT of use and is still going strong. He made some custom 60 series bumpers with similar sliders but alas they are no longer in production.

I've leaned really hard on these many times, including a couple flops where they acted like a kick stand and kept me from rolling all the way over.

Put a big rock in the wheel well and drive out of it letting the rear slider do it's thing...
I love 'em!

GLTHFJ60's Rear Bumper w integrated Sliders will be worth waiting for,

I've seen the design work he's doing and its one of the Nicest 60 series Bumpers I've seen!

But as folks have said, Jims Bumpers are Tried and True, and he'll make it however you want it.

Howdy gents! Thanks for the replies. Jim very nice 60! That rear bumper is sweet, too back they don't make them anymore. GLTHFJ60, look forward to seeing the finished product!

Thanks for the plug Ben, but as you and I know we're quite a ways from having a bumper to bolt onto our rigs,

Here is what I think will be the final design. Of course this will be for a rig with chopped rear quarters. I couldn't figure out how to trim the quarters on the model.

GLTHFJ60, what modeling software is that and where did you get the 60? I have the AutoCAD wireframe 60 - is this the same one?

I'm using Google's Sketchup program and the 62 ( square headlights that you can't see in this pic ) is free from the Google 3D Warehouse.

FY!, the 4x4labs guys just got back to me about their 60 bumper kits. They're looking for $1300 for the dual swingout kit! I think I can do mine for less than $200 without welding time, without the swingouts, but that's based on the pricing Ben ( 5280Hawk ) gave me.

Ben, I think I'm going to be able to make it in 9 panels that will be bent to give the angles. I'll email you when I get somewhere on making the templates!

:grinpimp:

Very nice! Looking forward to seeing a prototype!

1300 for the kit, kit meaning that it is not welded? WOW!!!

Granted it's for their fully decked out dual swing-out kit, aka top of the line. Their kits are extremely well engineered, but I'll be making my own.
