For Sale Has anyone looked at this Lx in person, considering a trip to Tulsa

Oil pan gasket, rear main seal, axle seals, valve cover gaskets, ball joints AND steering rack was the diagnosis I got.

Nice that they were upfront about the issues. Also, wonder if it's actually the RMS or just oil from the leaky valve cover gaskets? I haven't read of many RMS leaks on the 100.

I had a deposit down on this LX. Then I pulled the Lexus.com service history on this vehicle. Per a Lexus of Tulsa inspection in Feb. 2019 this LX needs all the oil seals mentioned above, as well as a CV boot, a wheel bearing repack, brake system flush, ball joints and steering rack. The service history also showed the owner chronicallly refusing to replace a dirty air filter. And at the 90k miles service it got a new water pump, but no record of a new timing belt.

I was still tempted to get the truck as its a 1-owner, but presently with my work-family demands I would not have the time to get all the other items completed. Good luck to whoever does get it. I wish it were me, but don’t have the time to reconcile all these other issues.

Re: Rear-Main Seal, I got a text photo from the dealer that would indicate Rear Main seal is leaking quite a bit...which is also what the Lexus dealer report indicated. Of course, I’ve had 80 series-es on which I drove 100k plus miles with a leaking rear-main seal, so it’s not a make-or-brake if you oil up at the gas station.
