I have always loved the 100 Series. I found what appears to be a unicorn right in my own backyard. It's a 2003 LX 470 with only 37,000 miles on it. The truck is in immaculate condition. It was reportedly owned by the owner of one of the largest Lexus dealers in Texas for about 20 years. He kept it at his Colorado vacation home in a garage and only drove it about 1,500 miles per year over the summer. He also religiously had it fully serviced each May/June at a dealership, presumably at the start of his summer vacation.

I inspected the truck in person yesterday and took it for a drive. Drives great, no rusting or corrosion on the undercarriage, engine looks great, and the interior is in very good condition as well. No aftermarket work, other than an installed infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay (which is nice to have in an older truck).

The seller is asking $43k. That's a lot for a 20 year old truck, but this is such a beauty.

What do you all think? Should I pull the trigger?

You want a collectors piece, then find a low mileage LC. The LX doesn’t hold near the value of an LC. Not sure 43k would fly on BAT even as it’s an LX.
Would love to have found a 30k mile 100 series LC in my area but unfortunately they don’t grow on trees and cost a pretty penny. But, someone bought a 2001 LX with more miles on BaT for over $50k just a few months ago. I think that this LX will hold value pretty well. Also I like the LXs personally.

Yeah, an LC with 30 K would’ve probably ran you 60-70k. At the end of the day, if you’re happy with your purchase, that’s all that matters.

Think you got a great vehicle! Value is subjective. That LX will out live anything you buy new today for more money, GX, 4runner or the controversial LC250. I’d buy this over anything new. In fact I just bought a 2000 LC100. It’s a rare bird (and the reason I bought it) was a special order and the closest to a US poverty pack I’ve seen for a model year 2000. No 3rd row, fixed rear 1/4 windows, no port add ons, so not running boards, roof rack, hitch, spoiler (wing), no laminate wood grain, no navigation, all documented on Toyota build sheet! Did come with leather and moonroof, dealer said they were not optional! Also, because it had no running boards it came with front splash guards. And I feel the most desirable color for 2000-2002, River Rock Green on Oak, has 64k miles. I do feel guilty driving it 😂 and will likely end up selling it…

Where did you find this? Pretty cool! Never seen one like it before.

Yes, it’s a pretty cool Cruiser. Like a time capsule! Goal was to keep this one and sale my 01 which is also super clean but has 193k. But as members have said, I feel better driving the 01 😂

Word of mouth. I live in San Diego and flew up to Marin California and drove it home. Was a 1 owner car, retired attorney. He only used it for ski trips to his cabin. Once he got there it was garaged in a temp controlled garage 😂. Said he had a hell of a time finding a dealer to order it, they told him only year to “special order” was 98 for 98/99 models.

Also said, the reason he didn’t want any port add ons is because he wanted it quite as possible and that it is! It’s Lexus LS quite on the freeway driving back from the Bay Area. His wife drives a newer RX500H and he swears it quieter than that 😂

Wildest part is, he got rid of it because the driver window started making noise when going up and down when it’s cold and the armrest were stuck in the up position which I fixed when I met him at the Bank.

So he’s neurotic and you scored a very rare cruiser, haha. WIN!

Those are cool, wasn’t familiar with them before you shared.
