I have been waiting since May 23rd for a pair of tail lights with no bulbs. I was also sent the wrong fuel door lock for a door that drops down because the first lock was too short.

Supposedly the the right lock has been keyed to match the keys provided for the ignition and front doors. The lock set took about 6 weeks to get shipped and delivered.

His presents seems to have dropped off the site.

Thanks.
He did say that the PMs were no longer working for him.

I ordered a complete set of locks and the fuel door lock was for a side opening door and it took a while for him to wrap his head around that.

I just ordered an aftermarket fuel door lock from City Racer.

His web site seems to be still up.

I received something quickly from him (which had not been my experience in the past) about a month or two ago.

I texted him some photos he requested and he called me and we talked for over an hour until his phone died.

He’s never been quick to respond, ship, etc. Interesting that he’s gone.

I have never understood why people go into business and then just piss it away by fing with buyers. Yes, there are crappy buyers. However from my time here, that's just not the case here. I understand people get sick and miss a dead line here and then. USPS, UPS and FedEx damage or loose a package now and then. Computer/internet/phone lines go down for a while. BUT none of that covers repeated failure to at least contact the buyer that you took money from.

I often post links to vendors here and for the most part I feel good about it. Just the other day someone ordered the wrong part from $OR - They help figure out what part the guy really needed and hooked him up - That is customer service by definition.

I couldn’t agree more. This community is unlike most automotive communities I’ve been involved with. I’ve tried to make a point to purchase at least something from each of the active vendors here (I still think I have at least 1 I haven’t purchased anything from, and that’s Georg..but I hear his rear output seal is the one to have, so maybe I’ll check him off the list very, very, soon).

Good customer isn’t hard. We’re pretty understanding - these aren’t huge companies, and we’re not expecting Amazon overnight delivery. But answering a PM, email, phone call, etc on an order should be the bare minimum.

In my business, my team sends our customers order status reports 3 times per week, regardless of progress made on fulfillment (our lead times are a bit longer though because product is not stocked - it’s produce to order mostly!).

I hope Toyota Matt gets all of these orders fulfilled properly. His knowledge is an asset to the community, as is his access and passion for finding parts.

Yeah. I've had the guys at SOR swear me out over the phone. After spending $15,000. Because i needed help with the door handles they sold me. Matt is more mad scientist, scattered but vintageteq brilliant. May not sit well with the "ship it yesterday instant gratification crowd."

I have no dog in this hunt. Not being a purest allows me to keep my rig running without extra stress involved with NLA. Plus I like making and fixing things - Keeping the brain active is important - Mother nature's rule is use it or loose it. I don't do crossword puzzles because I'm a poor speller. I loved problem solving of figuring out the unknowns in chemistry lab class.

Yep mad genius disorder is a thing. We all have our struggles. Figuring out how to eliminate stress in your life is important. Stress works on you even in your repair period, also known as sleep.

After a lot of texts, emails and messages left on his site he called me and is loaded everything in the same box including the lock, tail lights and bulbs. The package should ship tomorrow.

I now have a tracking number for the lights and the new fuel door lock. I still have a backup lock coming for City Racer.
