Hard to shift (1 Viewer)

I have an 08 and have been having trouble with the gear shifter . You almost have to use two hands to take it out of park. I took it to Serra Toyota last week and they said that it looked like someone spilled a drink and it was gummed up. I didn't spill a drink and no one else drives it. I was told they cleaned the "flaps" around the shifter and also greased it ?? It worked fine for a few days but the problem is back again. Any thoughts on this ? Thanks , Chad

Once its out of park, does it move freely between reverse and drive, etc? You might have something stuck with the shifter interlock, try taking your foot off the brakes, and re-appying them.

It's difficult to shift in all positions.

If at possible to remove the trim above to check if under that the linkage is clean, or check the shifter connected to the geat box might be bent.
