Awesome rear bar.
I want one.
It still retains the factory bar look which is really cool cause it
looks like it belongs on the back of your rig.

Cheers.

PTO in Bullbar

I have a few shots after mounting up bull bar, and I found the original "Landcruiser" Brush Bar plastic assembly. The look is way better to me now than the original design by Toyota; extended bumper for the PTO sticking out way past needed!I like the look of the logo up there on Bull Bar too. I think they are getting harder to find anymore?
I ordered 4 Specter 70 series dura-flares. RETURNING THEM! They looked like crap and mount strange.

Now just waiting for the speed-i-liner to be sprayed, before the powder-coated sliders and rear bumper mount up. An LED, 24-volt, clear, "pop in" light was also designed for the rear bumper giving me a light to use for both reversing, and for camping/cooking situations at night. I will post photos of mounted stuff soon.

i agree the shackel reversal is a waste of time and money.
i disagree with the SOA being stable, i have seen my fair share of them on their side. not a fan now, never have been. if you are running 35s then 2 1/2" lift and move the axle ahead 1" and you are golden. low, stable and capable.
i will admit the SOA on a dedicated off road rig has WICKED articulation.

SOA does not make the unit that much more top heavy, and that's easily countered by better articulation... I have done lots of SOAs and in most cases the truck has driven better and been more stable off-road rather than less stable.

I would not do a shackle reversal. Total waste of time...

24-12V converters - there are lots of different kinds available, you really need to know what your loads and usage is going to be before you invest in one.

mate that toyota on the front bar looks great

Nice job on the bumper! With the rear mounted spare so far offset on the bumper, is the carrier able to open all the way without the tire touching the body or taillight? Did you add a stopper of some kind? Could you show another picture or two of the bumper/tire carrier?

I also really like that you made the ARB front bumper work with your factory PTO winch.

Thanks

Today possibly the lower body lines get sprayed with EZi Liner, and the sliders, and rear bumper go on, exhaust gets done. I measured wheelbase yesterday and came up with 103" from center of axle to center of axle. Not sure what stock is, buy thats how far mine is located forward now.

Why exactly is a shackle reversal a waste of time and money?

On this particular Cruiser it was an easy means of moving the axle forward and gaining additional lift to clear the 35's. It also made it sit more level. Why is that a waste of time and/or money?

Looking good Mike. Glad you ended up with it and you are going this route. It's a sweet ride for sure.

Looks sharp! Nice eye for detail putting everything together. Also interested in the process of stuffing the PTO into the ARB - maybe a separate thread on that. Im sure there would be some interest! Which OME springs do you have in the rear, and how much weight are you planning on hauling?

Lets see it in ACTION, glad you are happy

thanks, now exhaust is done!

Jericho Thanks.
I had the exhaust done yesterday, and am very impressed; Motor now pulls thru full range of powerband, no flat spots. Sounds great, not too loud at all. 3", no muffler, with rubber clamps did great!
I am planning to leave in it for Central America after Christmas. Truck will see plenty of action daily in mountains of Guatemala, and farther south.
The PTO into Bull bar is not hard, basically removing crossbar material from bull-bar for winch to sit. The rear mounts stay the same, the front 4 mounts get drilled into bullbar for support. Lets the bull bar sit close to grill, not out 1.5 feet as stock bumper did! I found a picture of unmodified rig like mine to show what I did since, wish I still had the decals for the sides! I will look at rear springs, I plan to carry a refridgerator, and normal weight on travels. The lift was heavy front, medium rear-OME.

Heading east,then south

In St. Louis for Christmas, then heading to Mexico by the 1st. Looking forward to warmer weather, and using the better diesel in Mexico and beyond!
I will update my website with photos and adventures, on the way.

When travelling in South America , ONLY GET DIESEL FROM A REPUTABLE SUPPLIER. BRING LOTS OF FUEL CONDITIONER. A lt of the coaster buses will have like 3 racors inline and evry hour the driver will pull over and drain the water. Have a safe trip.
