Hand cranking

Manual engine hand crank do/can u use

I my self have only attempted and suceeced in starting my 74 55 twice this way.
Allways makes a great wow facter.

Just the other day i used it with the valve cover of to show my step daughter how it all moves in there. SHe was very impressed.
 
How about the "Skip the hand crank routine and just find a a hill that I can jump start on!" option.
 
My one chance so far was last month and I forgot! :doh: Ran the battery dead with the ARB fridge, party lights and stereo. :D I do use it to lower the spare tire, though...

retrieve your crank
insert in similarly shaped hole in the front
line up with cut outs on the bottom pulley and start cranking away

the lower the compresion of your motor, the easier is will be to hand crank

this is the hand crank, new $20 from Toyota

Only time Ive used the hand crank was when changing rod bearings.
