Anyone interested in getting a Ham license? Tests will be offered from 11:00 to 1:30.

There will also be a swap meet (radio, computer & misc electronic goodies) in the parking lot (also known a "tailgating") and in the gymnasium.

Sooo....do I need to study for said exam?? Or is this one of those things where I can read the pamphlet 15 minutes before and have a better than 50/50 shot at passing?

It may take more than 15 minutes, but 10 year old kids have passed the test. Lots of info available, search ham license sample questions. I took my technician class test in 1973 and I had to know Morse code too. Lots of things have changed since then. I think the test is easier now and Morse code no longer required for any level license... and yes, I am an old fart.

Time to study for the General.

Patrick, I studied for 2hr the night before for the technician and passed with 100%
I'd say it's easy to remember questions and answers, but knowing the material is a different story.

I have a HAM for Dummies book that is actually pretty good. I'll be there - I've been meaning to take my General.

I hope to make the Vienna/Oakton Highschool meeting tomorrow night and meet the group. If anyone else is interested, let me know.

How many generals do we need to give the test?

I keep meaning to go to the lib and sighs out a book.

One out of two isn't bad, especially if you didn't study.
