not recently, unfortunatly, im stuck. i need to find some tubing for the rear shackle of the front spring, that i have to insert into the frame rail, in order to hang my shackles. till then, no worky on it

What/where is your steering box from? I robbed column, box and pump from my buddy's parts Camaro, but I'm concerned about the box strength (and it only has three mounting bolts).

im supposidly getting one in the mail. i got box pump and hoses off of the pirate board, but when it comes to the shaft, i may use roundy pounder stuff (race shafts etc.etc.) i know competition engineering sells a universal steering shaft assembly that i might be looking into

hey doods, need some input. what size tubing do i use for the rear spring hanger, of the front axle in the frame? i want to put it into the frame, to keep the truck low. i was thinking about using a johnny joint? whaddya think? i would rather use a rubicon express joint, but they only use 9/16 bolts, (since you can adjust them and they are way easier to assemble..) the johnny joint is 5/8'' inside diameter bolt. i think it would be sweet. i could plasma the holes out and weld the bodies of the joint into the frame? any other ideas? i have a little bit of tubing, but it is 1 3/8 inside diameter tubing, stock replacement bushings dont work, nor do any of the SOR poly bushings work either. i need to find bushings that are 1 3/8 outside, 5/8 inside, or tubing that is 1'' inside, or 1 1/8" inside diameter.....or go the JJ route. gimmie yer thoughts

tipically you use 1.25 1/8 wall tubing that makes for 1" ID for the thru frame mount. the jonny joint i have laying around has an OD of 2.625" and an ID of .55"

fawk ya! front end was hung today. i was able to find the money motivation and time to do it sunday. this was a very productive day. what i did was, just say fawk it and i plasma'ed the tubing out of the stock spring hangers, cleaned them up, cut the holes in the frame, and welded them in. also welded the front hangers, and spring perches. now i can roll this s***box out of the garage, and get the floor clean...lol roll 'er back in, and start tearin the front end down. i nailed the shackle angle the first time, no bull**** like the rear end gave me....it went easy, just had to get the time to do it....so i need to order seals, rotors and steering goodies and teh front end will be mostly together.

its comin along....

hey any of you cruiser heads have a long ubolt (like 4 inches longer than stock?)? i need to make one bent to get around my diff, and the stock one isnt gonna work...i just need one.

well, i pushed it outside, and got the garage cleaned up.... i tore down the front end to get the third member out...ill be installing gears after work prolly for the next week or so. i also need to cut and turn the knuckles.... im assuming...the top of the knuckle needs to be set back 4 degrees from level? right now they are forward of level, tierod facing the ground, i need to grind off the welds, roll them back, past level, and point the tie rod towards the sky right?

WTF do i do with all the drum s***? throw it away? sell it on ebay? i want to take the pins that were holding the warn lockouts on the drum hubs and machine them into my new hubs and (need to find some) asian lock outs like hendrix motorsports does.

:edit: i measured my wheelbase....it turned out to be 106"....

Did the same thing with my rear spring hangers. cut out old tubing and welded it in. Came out cockeyed though. Guess it doesn't matter cause I got a hold of some 60 springs so I'm redoing them anyway. Glad to see you back on it Halo progress is lookin' sweet.

mine didnt come out exactly perfect either, but hell, im not building a show truck...

im now waiting on money to buy more front end parts...it might be a while...damn it!

i need front knuckle seal kits, i need asian hubs, and i need to turn my rear rotors to fit on my flanges
