Thank you. I'm gunna order a cost cut tempered window tomorrow. I want to find a nice piece of 1/8" that I can cut radii corners into and then bolt it in place somehow. Hope to use generic locking window gasket to hold the glass to the plate. I keep changing the rack...right now I'm looking at a front and rear hoop on the bed that are just plain jane 1 1/2" pipe with swept 90 bends, maybe 4 foot above deck, tied together laterally above the radius of the bends. then do an integral mount above cab rack that will set close to the roof, about 5-6" below the line of the bed hoops. The front bumper will also evolve and include some receivers for a front hoop that will match the bed hoops, but about 8" narrower than the bed hoops. at least, thats where it's at tonite.....got the radiator support on and trial fit the front fenders. got the firewall dressed out except for the mounting holes for the hot water valve. Gotta figure out how to use the cable pedal w/ the 60 series carb, and just how I'm going to cover the vapor seperator, and what I'm going to do for the filler spigot. gotta ways to go still, but hope to be rolling it down to town for the bedskin by monday. doors be dammed.

Thank You, Tim. Got the rear glass ordered today, along with the locking gasket. Total shipped and taxed less than 130. !/4" thick clear tempered(with tempering logo) 2" radiused corners 47" X 13 3/4". the punch list looks long, but most of it will be in re re redoing my poor old wiring harness, and making the whole hodge podge work as an orchestra instead of a cacophony.

got the rockers cut to accept the untrimmed fenders, stillgotta plate out the ends of the rockers. cut the old nuts with bolts broke off inside em off of the lip of the rad support that secure the upper/lower fenders. Used speed nuts to make the fix. just cut a slice in the lip so the nut doesn't interfere with the fender fit. Might weld em in, might not.

lookin like I'll have the cab chassis OTR by tuesday, expect the glass sometime early next week. Pick up bedskin once its mobile. rack material as well, then dive into some haff doors. I did not do any at all not nadda nuthin to the rad support or fenders as they are destined for their original host again one day. They will get a sanding and color match, but they will also keep their rust and dents. I am toying with the idea of some tube framed fenders, something that won't be too fab shop, but semi simple and structural to take off from for the overcab. Besides, I can't finish it, cause then I won't have something that needs doin to it:hillbilly:

couple more...dang it, I'm goin to hafta stretch the frame and bed next summer.....

:lol::doh:

hooo. ten straight hours on it today. got the fenders FINAL fit. just need to finish stripping and seam seal and paint em. got the whole harness out of the 77 and all the switches, and put the whole shebang into the pig-up. got most of the dash done. going to have to tear it all out again before the end of summer to r+r the windshield wiper links and nipples:doh: just don't have the time to dick with it right now. working long days EOD, which is kinda like every day bein a 10-12 hour friday(I could git used to it...)sharin the wifes truck, and it looks like the schedule just got a little thicker on the work side, so the current deal is not going to cut it for long:bounce::bounce::bounce: I've got to land all the wires in the EC, mill a loom for the tail lights, replumb all the engine hoses, bypass heater(I'm going to regret that, I just know it), hang the radiator, find a home for and plumb the fuel vapor seperator and pipe and flange the filler hose, install the seat and belts, after I fab the rear body mounts. If I make a good list of thing to procure tomorrow, I could have almost all of that done by end of monday. Glass still has not shipped:mad: and the W/S for it will be here on tuesday.

awe hel! theres still a crack of l;ight, I'm going to go swap the seat in.....

nuts. I'm going to need some nuts. But the seat is in and it will bolt up.

quick question to anyone looking, what do you think I should do with the gas filler neck? I'm going to have to have a fill port/cap followed by a fill vent. Where does the vent need to be in relation to the tip of the pump nozzle, for fill purposes? Is there a minimum height that I need to be over the top of the tank? should I take the shortest route to the rear corner, or is it ok to take the long way and run up to the bulkhead(preferred)?

nevermind. gunna move the tank forward and put the vapor can thing inside the cab at stock height. it's the cleanest way I can think of without spending the farm.

well, it's not mobile yet. but I did get the interior painted and the roof and a pillars too. I found that the rustoleum canvas white if spankin close to cygnus. its close enough to live with it, and miles closer than that flat white I had on it.
