Hey sty!!! I need some power steering swap mojo.

FJ80 box: check
mounting:
steering shaft:
pump:
pump mounting:
cooler:
hoses:
drag link and rod ends:

I'd love to keep it cheap:rofl:, so if we can keep the stock fj55 drag link, that's be great.

I have the steeing box mounting hardware and sleeves for the frame.

What is the best position on the frame to mount the box (fore to atf)?

What is the typical fix for getting from the end on the oem steering rod to the steering box? Is it as simple as making a longer slip yoke?

Likey to use Georgs saginaw pump mount for 2F. Does anyone have a bolt in pump part number? How about the pulley?

where did you source hoses?

I think I might hold on to it for a bit longer. The break from it has let me figure out what it would really need for me to get hooked on it again, and Bob nailed it: it needs to be easier to drive!!! I now have a daily driver, so when I cut into the steering, i wont have to have it toad worthy By Monday asscrack o dawn. Getting old is both sucky and liberating

Been wrackin my brain over best way to sleeve the frame. I think im
Gunna transfer the bolt pattern to the frame, then thru drill for 12mm hardware from the outside in. Then over drilling the inside to accept the 1/2” x 3/4” DOM sleeves. Cut the sleeves to cozy up to the inside of the outside wall, weld them onto a 3/16- 1/4” scab plate notched for the motor mount bracket. Then insert the assembled sleeve block from the inside, and weld the plate to the inside wall of the frame. Realize the sleeves won’t get welded to the outside frame rail, but theory being the sleeves keep the frame from squishing, and the plate keeps the hardware from pulling out or bending the frame. You guys see any problems with this?
