Nice work on the cab interior Simon. Definitely going to tuck the weatherstrip trick with the wire up the old sleeve.
 
it was a classic case of "what do I need? well, What do I have?...I was aweful proud of myself fer that- even if all it was was a broke clock being at the right place at the right time...

HOLY COW you got a lotto number you wanna share with me? How'd you know? they even gave me a spare..I got 2 of em!!! both with the same numbers...sorta like matching mud flaps. new cali title for 1973 fj55 in the mail to me!!! I got stickers; sky's wide open. I ain't forgot, @Glennmerkel, I ain't forgot...2 hours at the dmv- and I was happy to do it!

And it is back! got some cheap carpet laid over the floor- that jute carpet padding does wonders for heat and sound! Sold the rear 285/75/16s and used the funds to get a set of used 235/85/16...I might NOT need power steering after all...been trying to dial in the cab ride quality; gunna install visors, and oh crap handles. got new HDFB door cards cut; even key-holed the retainer mounting holes so it can use later more conventional door trim clips (ala fj60/62/minitruck). Drilled out the upper door rails to accept the minitruck windowfelt clips and installed the outer flets- still have to install the inner felts...I am using minitruck w/o vent window inner felts on the outside and inside of the windows. pics to follow...

Mickey Mouse ears made with small unibit using the o.g. hole as a starting point and tipping the bit up to 2 o'clock, then 10 o'clock followed by a couple clean up passes

we'll have to pose at the PPoh18...I still got tan lines where my sandal straps were!
 
that rear window is custom cut tempered with cert glass- cost 85 bucks shipped to my door and I should have had it tinted...when it gets camper converted, it may not need a window there :)
 
OH the felts...got em from a junkyard truck- prolly early 90s. I found an ebay inner/outer felts for both fronts for like $135 aftermarket- same parts could also work for fj60 front doors as well for the black out effect..I'll see if I can link to the ad
