H55F with toybox install on 82 FJ60

The linkage uses the stud sticking out of a threaded hole on the tranmission. So if you moved the linkage back and drilled another hole in the floor there would not be anything there to connect it to unless you made something. I don't know if I understood your question right.

Ah, now I understand. Your's seems like a very stout set up. Very nice.

Ok guys, help me out some here, i just bought a truck (60) with a 4.56 gears 700r 3spd t case and 203 doubler, i have not drove it yet much less wheeled it, but this sounds pretty much like that set up but it is all toytota parts, and of course a 4.7 extra tcase. Can some one give me a good comparision to this set up. just asking is all.

Cheers

Finally got my Toybox today. No instructions and no tech person at Marlin today to answer any questions. I'm getting kinda impatient, so gotta ask a couple questions to those of you that just went through this.

Picture #1 shows the MC24 adapter plate that bolts to the tranny. I assume the tranny tailshaft/output bearing is supposed to fit in the machined hole in the case. Well, I can fit a .030 feeler gauge between the bearing and the case. Doesn't seem normal top me. Or does the tranny tailshaft bearing even get used?

Picture#2 Is this where the oiler goes?, and does the opening face up? Not very secure. It seems like it will fall off. Maybe it will be more obvious that the gear will hold it against its mounting when I start assembling.

I know I'll have a s***load more questions, but this will satisfy what puzzles me the most at the moment.
I'll double post over at Marlin, but figured I'd get more responses here.

Thanks!

Has anyone here had any problems with the oiler cup portion of this install.
Has anyone had to shorten or discard the plastic oiler cup to provide clearance for the Marlin adapter plate that covers the back of the H55 ?

there doesn't seem to be enough space between my adapter plate and counter shaft for the oiler cup.

Is this considered part of the original shifter linkage or is this in the case itself? Please explain.

Do a search for "2Lo mod." Might be in the sticky FAQ up top. Really easy mod.

Cali,
Thanks for the post. It made my day. I guess mine is also machined for the oiler.
I can pull my oiler cup off and get this put together!
