Any thoughts on a good source to buy a new h55 and new transfer case for a 1987?

Thanks!

i used valley hybrids...had them source a tcase core, rebuild it and mate it to the H55 and send it all together. Less chance of having something done wrong. Doing it this way also limited my downtime and then I just sold what I took out. Good luck. You will love the upgrade.

We would love to help @ Cruiser Outfitters. We stock new transmissions, new t-cases in several different ratios and every part in between. We can shop a tranny as soon as today!

Thanks Kurt! I was not aware you stocked those goodies. I've shopped with you for years and you aren't too far from WYO.

Pickup is always available too!

Getting ready to pull the trigger on my H55 install. Read somewhere, cant remember where that the four speed shifter will work by installing a 5 speed shifter bushing on the 4 speed shifter. Anyone know if that is a true statement?

The end of the shifters are different. The 4 speed shifter is flat on the end to fit in a slot and the 5 speed shifter has a ball with a nylon cover that fits in a cup of the center shifter rail.

Okay sounds like they are very different. Thank you.

I can send you a photo of the 5 speed shifter end, but don't have the 4 speed shifter anymore.
