Not specific to the dimensions, but while on the topic of comparison. It's interesting to see massaging seats, Lexus safety 3.0+, newest infotainment software, big digital instrument cluster, etc. offered / included on the GX, but absent on the LX. Assume they will have mid-cycle refresh for 2025/2026 MY to update? If not, it feels harder to pay ~$20k more for an LX

so strange...kinda like LX and GX engineers are not even from same company.

Thanks for this comparo Mad
For clarity, do the other 3’s widths include mirrors too?

Don’t think so. And i don’t know why lexus did that with the GX550 specs because almost all Lexus cars can power fold in the side mirrors either when you lock your car or to get into tight garages. So why list it unless width is the new penis measuring yard stick??? GX550s do have seemingly big a$$ side mirrors though….

I know the 600 info was a compersome hunk of s*** from the people I know that had the 600s.

They have dumped them said not even close to 570 quality

So let me get this straight…Toyota and Lexus will have how many vehicles all about the same size?

Lexus LX600 and GX550.

Toyota Sequoia, upcoming Land Cruiser, and upcoming 4runner.

5 vehicles at least all the same with just minor cosmetic and luxury differences??

Let’s not forget that the Tundra is basically a fraternal twin also.

Personally, i think that upcoming LC will be special. My guess…LC 2-door based on a shortened 300 platform…like FJC…but more traditional styling to fight Bronco and Wrangler…4-banger turbo…shorter wheelbase, smaller in size, yet LC quality…and allows Toyota to keep prices “reasonable” for a LC. This way, you get the best of Bronco/Wrangler in terms of off-road capability YET surpasses them with a superior platform and quality.

Let’s go!

No 2-door.

Tacoma fits right there as well. New Tacoma has a slightly wider track width than the LC300 in the offroad trims at least. But it retains the same door to door width as the old tacoma. So, the width on paper is nearly the same, but the body its self is significantly narrower. I think the GX is the same way in relation to the Sequoia and the LC300 fits in between. The interior of the GX is significantly smaller/narrower. Visually it looks like about 6-8 inches narrower.

That still leaves the LC300, GX, LC, 4R, and Tacos all the same size. In fairness - they already were to a large degree and have been pretty darn close for a while. The LC100, GX470, 4th gen 4Runner, and 1st gen Sequoia were all pretty close and all shared most of the same powertrains. Doesn't make a ton of sense to me. But Toyota does what Toyota does.

Cool video:

The frame in particular is quite impressive design / technology! May decrease frame rot!

Great video. 4 more inches of front articulation is insane for an IFS front end.

Compared to Lexus GX460. I believe that LC 200 front IFS articulates better than GX460…so not sure how much better the GX550 over LC IFS is….
