Hey folks...

I thought it wouldn't hurt to start a thread that provides any updates on when the SUVs will start hitting the lots and also an idea of how long certain models/trims are taking.

I'll start:
Model: GX550
Trim: Overtail+
Color: Earth
Order/Deposit placed: 6/2023

Status: Expected delivery in early to mid 2024

I'm really on the fence on which model to get. I'm a wait list for a GX 550 Premium right now, no deposit placed. I've been really considering the mid-tier LC though at the same time. I have a 2012 4Runner Limited that I bought new, it now has 160,000 miles. I installed car play and run on the 32.6" AT's. Not really sure what the GX offers over what I already have, well, other than being newer and having more power. The LC is at least a hybrid that get's a Toyota rated 27mpg! I'm still on the fence and might wait until more reviews come out before making a deposit on the LC.

Either way, I'll list my build(s) below:

GX 550
Premium (3rd row delete instantly)
White
Wait list - 6/23

Land Cruiser
LC trim
Heritage blue
Wait list - TBD

GX 550
Luxury + or Overtrail +
told dealer I am open to Nori, Nebula, Earth, Icognito
Wait list - Nov 2022 (rolled over LX deposit)

Land Cruiser
First Edition
Traildust ?
Wait list - TBD (2 dealers don't have a formal list just yet)

Plan is to go with GX and get on a list for the GX hybrid or pick up a LC first edition used down the line if I can't get a new one at launch.
I think the GX will hold it's value strongly in the first couple of years.

Land Cruiser 1958 Edition
I got in touch with my 3 area Toyota dealers last week. One, I put down a $500 refundable deposit; the second put me on a "formal-sounding" reservation list (put all my details into their system) but said they wouldn't take a deposit at this time; the third just took my name and number and said they'd "add me to a list" but I honestly didn't feel too confident that the guy that took my info down knew much about what was happening.

Two of the dealers asked my color preference, for what it's worth (as I understand it, you're sort of at the mercy of dealer allocations).

Hopefully, by spreading this out a bit I won't have to wait too long after release for one.

2024 GX550
Premium Plus OR Overtrail (told dealer I wanted to see cargo space with or without third row)
White, incognito, nori green or nightfall
Deposit - none (have 2022 GX460 bought from same dealership and they don't require deposit)
Timeframe - Late Summer 24 for Premium +, early summer / late spring for overtrail

Got an update from local Austin dealer...production expected Jan 5th. Side note....Sewell Lexus in Dallas is having a GX/TX launch preview on the 25th. They have a reservation list if you want to attend...I'm on the fence on attending with current family obligations pending.

Put my name on the list for the basest of base model LC - they didnt have much infor other than they know it exists and no ADM

I ordered the same and was told to expect February.

However Lexus is training and pushing the TX rn and the dealers haven’t been given any info on the GX, so…be prepared for 3-5 month possible push/delay (worst case).

I'm first in line at my dealer for a 250, but final pricing will determine what trim I go with. If the First Edition is under $70K, I'll try to swing it and then get the first one that comes in. Otherwise, I'll get a 1958 with maybe a couple options. No markup, but that's only because I know the auto group GM, otherwise they're charging extra.

They have very little details outside of the official press stuff. They're expecting the first ones to roll in late Q1 possibly. I would guess more like Apr/May though.

I called the two dealers near me and both won't take my money until they get an allocation. I asked about waiting lists for the allocation and neither have a list. Maybe it is a FL thing? Anyone FL based have a dealer that will commit?

Edit: this is for the LC250

Overtrail Nori - deposit July 15. I was maybe #12 or #15 on GX550 list, but only a handful were Overtrail.
No news at that time on production. Coming from a 2011 4R Trail, which I will keep if they markup a lot.

In the list. Was going to get a Sequoia but didn't
"Close" to me dealer ...
No deposit.
White or blue (Ice Cap , Heritage Blue)
Cheapest model I can get with AC vents on ceiling second /third row
I REALLY want one, but not paying market adjustment BS. Max would be MRSP
I really hope to get one though !
Torn between selling the 80 and / or 200 😶‍🌫️

Parker Lexus in Little Rock, AR is taking refundable $1,000 deposits to secure an allocation on a new GX 550 at MSRP. We're going to place a deposit this weekend on a Premium+ this weekend, most likely in white. This will replace my wife's extremely boring but very solid Honda Pilot. She's worried that she won't like a Toyota product as well as she does Hondas, but I think she'll change her tune when she sees one in person. One interesting detail to the deal is that they're only taking deposits for Arkansas residents at this time.

I'm on the list for both the GX and LC with a couple of my local dealers who I've dealt with in the past:

- GX550 - Overtrail+ in anything besides white. Prefer green or earth. AD said Cdn pricing expected around November and they would get back to me. Took my deposit and said their allocations were going to existing Lexus owners first priority - my 98 LX counts though lol

- LC250 - Would like a FE, but would be fine with just the regular version. Like the trail dust color, but again anything other than white is fine. Have a deposit down but they had no info on timeframe yet. I have a really good relationship with them as I buy a ton of work vehicles through them, so I'm not too concerned - it'll arrive whenever they get it

I think I'd prefer the GX over the LC as I like the look a little more, and the TTV6 sounds nice. But it all depends on which might become available first, I'll probably take whichever one comes first and then consider the second one for the wife if I can convince her

Well, Hondas are amazing vehicles too ! Has she driven a Toyota SUV type ? Right of the bat, the Pilot is VERY different than any Yota... Just saying that it might be a good idea to have her drive a Toyota before ... Unless !

You are playing the "it is for you baby" card, hoping she will hate it and give it to you ! 👌🏾🤌🥳🤗

Haha I have to admit that I pulled a little harder for the GX than I would have for anything else on the market. I had a 2008 4Runner Limited V8 which she enjoyed driving so I don’t think we’ll have an issue. We sold it last spring for a Ram 2500 for the farm and miss it dearly. She works from home so we’ll have to “share” the GX.. you know.. to keep everything lubricated and what not!

I am going to wait until I can sit in one. I read somewhere the FE will be the first trucks built and then the other two. I will assume and hope my local dealers will get there 1 FE to overprice for the rich folks. Also I may wait until model year 2 when the 4-runner is released. This should make more choices and I hope the prices and interest rates come down. Just maybe Toyota will stop the dealers from doing SRP. Lastly, I will travel for a good price. The Bronco forum proves if you have a dealership that will guarantee MSRP you will grow you dealership - Granger Motors in Granger, Iowa. They are now the number 1 Bronco dealer in the nation.

Went to my local Lexus dealer yesterday (Sewell) to re-visit a potential 460. Asked about their list for the 550 and he pulled it up to show me. Christ almighty there is over 1000 people on their list lol. No money down but I reckon half of those names will bail but then again maybe not? This is one of the largest volume Lexus dealers in the country. In any case I still want to see one in person along with the cruiser before I make any commitments.

I have name on list and deposit in place for GX550 Overtrail and for a FE LC. My preference is for the LC because I really like Toyota Hybrid drivetrains and my fishing location is a 450 mile round trip. Will see what comes in and I might wait for a GX with ’a’ hybrid. Don’t know which hybrid drive train will go into a GX550h.

I really agree with this. I will travel or ship a car before I ever pay over MSRP. Teach those dealers who mark up that we will bypass them. There are dealers out there that will earn my business. Shoot make a trip out of picking up a new ride! The only way to stop this dealer madness is to boycott dealers who over charge.
