So what’s the consensus on GX550 OT vs LC250 LC?

If Toyota were to make a Tacoma SUV in a base trim... that is what came into my mind when I sat inside a 250 (no idea if it was a 1958, Land Cruiser-Land Cruiser-Land Cruiser Edition or First Edition).
I’m going to assume you sat in a base spec 1958 which is full of plastic and no frills (well as no frills as a new vehicle can be in 2025). All I’m saying is that I find a loaded 250 with all the bells and whistles to be very close to what you would find in the GX550 with each model having a couple points for and against one another. The biggest reason to get the GX imo is if you want the TT V6 and additional sound proofing/acoustic glass. Some people like to bring up towing but if you’re pushing the 9k lb rating of the GX go get a 1/2 ton pick up and call it a day.

Also Tacoma SUV is effectively the new 4Runner, which say you will about styling but objectively it’s the best riding and handling 4Runner to date. Also the safest when it comes to crash ratings.
