Heavy winds came through here on Monday for at least 12 hours and stripped most of the aspen leaves. And knocked down a lot of the trees, thanks to
@Rednexus for the idea to carry a battery operated Sawzall with pruning blade. Most could just run over but some thicker and higher were cleared in no time. Beats digging out the chainsaw and having bar and chain oil all over the place. A few were chainsaw size but came here to run the dog and chase birds so turned around and left those to the guys that want to play Paul Bunyan.
Last 2 days been in the twenties and a bit frosty in the mornings the rest of the leaves are dropping fast well past peak leaf peeper season here which makes hitting a bird that goes 0-45 mph in 1.5 sec a bit easier. Because you can finally see them well the gray streak in the trees anyhow.
Pigeon River, the North side of it is Canada
Anyone able to pronounce the Ojibwe language? I just call it the Flute, but I can be phonetically challenged enough with the English language
